My professional goal is to work for an international consulting company, traveling between the U.S. and Japan and knowing the language would be a great aid in creating that cross cultural business relationship.

Using it in with Japanese friends to keep in touch

I plan on utilizing Japanese in business consulting, working internationally in the future.

Participating in CLS affected my education greatly because of the cultural, historical, and language experience I gained.

My favorite part about studying in Japan was just getting the opportunity to interact with people from all types of background and especially being able to create friendships with Japanese native speakers.

I learned that Japanese people are very polite.

Probably one of the most memorable parts of the program was the week study trip we were able to go on. We went to Hiroshima, Miyajima, and Tokyo. I learned so much about Japanese history and seeing the sites of where the atomic bomb hit and contrasting that to the bustling city of Tokyo was a really interesting and impactful experience.

“Meccha” which means “very” or “way” and was often used to say “way fun” or “way delicious.”

I was born in China and moved to the U.S. when I was four. I grew up in the diverse and culturally rich city of New Orleans and that’s probably why I became so interested in international relations, cultures, and affairs. My hobbies are oil painting, framing, and because of my experience in Japan, karaoke! I have a particular interest in travel and have been to Denmark, England, Italy, France, Ireland, Turkey, China, and want to go to Australia next!
